Visiting and booking
When can we tour, and what are your office hours?
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Private tours run Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, by appointment and around the event schedule, with some flexibility if that does not suit you. Book a time online or call 336.397.2010.
When do we pay, and is there a deposit?
Your first payment, which depends on the package and venue, and a $500 refundable deposit are due when you return your signed contract. That makes your date official. Your payment schedule is on the first page of your contract.
Can we rent both the Main Barn and the Granary?
Yes. On top of your Main Barn package you can add The Granary for $750, subject to availability.
Can we have engagement or bridal photos at WinMock?
We would love to. Shoots are scheduled around our events during office hours. Spaces are not guaranteed to be clear or set a particular way unless you book our staff at a minimum hourly charge.
Food and bar
Do we have to use your caterers? Can we bring our own food?
Saturday events in the Main Barn use our in-house catering partnership. À la carte events are allowed on Fridays and Sundays with a caterer from our approved list; additional fees apply. In The Granary you can use an approved caterer or self-cater, as long as there are no flames or chafers.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. All beer, wine and spirits are bought through and served by WinMock. See our bar service packages for details.
How many drinks should we offer at the bar?
We usually recommend three beers and three wines, plus up to six liquor choices.
Is security required?
Yes, on-site security contracted by WinMock is required with all bar service unless agreed otherwise.
Your day
Do we need a day-of coordinator?
Since April 15, 2024 we require a licensed and insured day-of planner or coordinator. We have a list of planners who know the property well. Our own venue staff greet guests, keep the venue in prime condition and handle janitorial service.
Is a rehearsal included?
A two-hour rehearsal is included free. It is not guaranteed to be the night before or in the same ceremony space; we confirm the day and time two weeks before the wedding.
Who sets up the event space?
Our staff set up everything in your package or rented through WinMock. Outside vendors and client-provided items are set up by the vendor or by you.
When does our event need to end?
Guests, vendors and items must be clear of the property by the end of your rental time, which is written in your contract.
Who cleans up afterwards?
Our venue staff handle general cleaning and remove WinMock furnishings and rentals. You remove your décor, gifts and personal items before the end of your rental time.
Where will our guests park?
Each venue has ample on-site parking, with overflow parking nearby when needed.
Do you have a stage and audio-visual equipment for the band?
An 8 x 16 stage is available to rent and we can source a larger one. We do not provide audio-visual service for weddings, but we are happy to recommend vendors.
Is WinMock climate-controlled?
Yes, every indoor space has heating and air conditioning.
Details and policies
Can we decorate?
Yes: flowers, candles and uplighting are welcome. Nothing may be fixed to walls or the building, and candles must be in containers. We also offer décor packages for lighting, draping and tabletops.
What can we use for our exit?
Bubbles, water-soluble confetti, glow sticks and ribbon wands are welcome. Sparklers and loose streamers are not allowed.
Can our dog be part of the day?
Yes. Dogs stay leashed, waste is picked up, and vaccination records are due 30 days before the event. A person who is not a guest brings the dog and takes it home after photos or the ceremony.
Do you have a preferred vendor list? Do we have to use it?
Apart from the caterer rules above, you can work with any vendor you like. Once you book, we share our list of recommendations by category.
Was WinMock ever a real farm?
Yes. The estate was a country retreat with a working dairy farm and a herd of Red Poll cattle. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
